We will, as our pupils are growing and learning with us, care for, support and safeguard them whilst striving to encourage them to be responsible citizens and do the same for each other and their wider community.
We will strive to ignite our pupils’ desire and enthusiasm to learn without limits.
We will aim to encourage our pupils and school community to develop academically and socially which will develop their desire to explore the wider world, skilled and equipped to find out even more.
We will foster belief through believing in yourself, taking on challenges and digging deep within yourself to conquer fears.
Monday 17th June
11.15am - Year 6 have had a busy morning preparing for their week long residential. There was great excitement when the red leavers hoodies were handed out and the children discovered which groups and rooms they were in for the week. Now time for an early lunch before loading the mountain of luggage onto the coach.
1pm - Luggage and children loaded onto the coach and we are on our way. Next stop Boreatton Park ......
3.15pm - Y6 arrived safely and have been busy unpacking ready for their first afternoon games activity. Jack was the champion of the first round of games - rock, paper, scissors, cheerlead champion!
After tea the children enjoyed their first evening activity - a singsong around the campfire. Off to bed now for some sleep (fingers crossed!)
Tuesday 18th June
Good morning from the PGL team. After a hearty 7.15am breakfast, the children enjoyed an early morning limber up on the field prior to their first activity today - canoeing!
A fantastic time was had by all at the very chilly lake this morning when the team took to the canoes. This was followed by some sharp shooting at the archery range. Rosalynn and Gabriella were celebrating after scoring bullseyes. Mr Utteridge now owes them a prize!
After tea, we had a crazy night doing Wacky Races ...... and they really were wacky!! We shall sleep well tonight (fingers crossed!!).
Wednesday 19th June
It's been another busy day for Team PGL.
Today we tackled the giant swing and challenge course - great fun and a chance for some to step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves. This evening we enjoyed games in the gardens and a chance to enjoy some much welcome sunshine.
Thursday 20th June
We started the day with a big breakfast before another day of fun packed activities: zip wire, abseiling and raft building. We are hoping the sun will shine for us (especially whilst we are in the water!)
Lots of fears conquered today on the zip wire. Grace in particular was ace - 'to infinity and beyond!'
We had brilliant fun on the field for our evening games in the beautiful summer sunshine.
Friday 21st June
An early start for us all trying to pack an array of odd socks and tired teddy bears into our cases.
After breakfast, we harnessed up for the final time and attacked the climbing wall. It looked a long way up from the floor but lots of us conquered our fears.
Time for a spending spree in the shop before loading our mountains of wet, dirty washing onto the coach for the journey home. We are all looking forward to seeing our families after a brilliant week away.
