Being an Aspire Trust Pupil

At Parkroyal Community School, you are part of something really special. Our school is part of a group of 12 schools, with more than 4,200 pupils altogether. Our trust is called The Aspire Education Trust.

This means you belong to a big community where everyone can learn from each other, share ideas and celebrate success together. Being part of this larger group gives you more chances to grow, make new friends, and feel supported. It also reminds you that you are part of something important — not just representing Parkroyal, but a much bigger community of learners.

There are several opportunities for you to meet their Aspire Trust pupils during your journey in Parkroyal.

Your Activity Passport

The Activity Passport is one activity you can take part in as an Aspire Educational Trust pupil. It is designed to encourage you to try new things, develop important life skills and build lasting memories through a variety of experiences both in and outside the classroom. You will receive your own personal passport which you can keep at home and update throughout the school year.

The Trust Speech Festival

Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils are all invited to write about a topic of their interest which they would like to share in a speech competition. The pupils write their speeches in school and read them to their peers and then two are chosen, one from Year 5 and one from Year 6 to take part in a competition against other Aspire Trust pupils. Each year there is such a diverse range of topics chosen and members of the Trust Leadership team listen and judge each speech. It is a great festival to take part in and for pupils in different schools to meet each other.

The Aspire Trust Art Competition

This is a new competition introduced this year. The theme for the competition was 'Nature' and our pupils had the freedom to create whatever they liked based on this theme. Our Trust Counsellors judged the many entries and sent three winning entries to the CEO and Central team for judging. There were so many entries this year that we created a pop-up art gallery for everyone in school to have the opportunity to look at all the entries. As a pupil of the Trust, this is a competition that will be taking place each year that you will be able to enter.

The Aspire Trust football tournament

Every year some pupils take part in the Trust football tournament against other Trust schools. It is a great way to meet other pupils and take part in a competition, representing your own school.

Trust Counsellors

When you are in Year 6 you have the opportunity to apply for the post of being a Trust Counsellor. This involves having half-termly meetings with the CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Mr Simpson, where you meet other pupils from other Trust schools and discussing lots of different topics, such as ways to raise funds, ideas for competitors such as the Art competition and having the chance to discuss issues important to yourself that maybe the pupils across the Trust can learn about.
