We will, as our pupils are growing and learning with us, care for, support and safeguard them whilst striving to encourage them to be responsible citizens and do the same for each other and their wider community.
We will strive to ignite our pupils’ desire and enthusiasm to learn without limits.
We will aim to encourage our pupils and school community to develop academically and socially which will develop their desire to explore the wider world, skilled and equipped to find out even more.
We will foster belief through believing in yourself, taking on challenges and digging deep within yourself to conquer fears.
Pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6
On each of these year group website pages the teachers will place what they are teaching in school for you to use at home, if your child is not returning to school. In addition there will be a link to BBC BItesize and The Oak Academy, two online platforms offering comprehensive home learning programmes. In the coming weeks, ahead of the return of Year 1 and Year 6, the teachers will continue to place tasks on the website for your child to access via the link.
Pupils in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5
You will see that we have placed links to BBC Bitesize and Oak Academy. In addition to this the teachers have placed links to tasks for a geography or history unit of work, science unit of work and art unit of work that would have been taught this term if they were in school. You will also see the link to TTRockstars (Times table APP) and Madame Murphy will continue to post Languages videos too.
We suggest a possible timetable would be:
Morning - Complete the daily BBC Bitesize maths, English and foundation subject lesson in the morning (this includes lessons for computing, Languages, RE, geography, history and art which are added every day).
Afternoon - Choose a tasks from each of the units of work from Parkroyal to work on over the week. These are comprehensive tasks that should be worked on and completed over a number of days throughout the week.
If you don’t have access to any technology to deliver this, please let us know. As we have done since school closed, we have supported families and pupils with this and of course will continue to do so.
We recognise every family has different pressures at this time and may not all be able to access the full home learning offer. Please do not let that worry you at all. Yours and your child’s wellbeing is top of any list. Our suggestion would be to prioritise the English and maths and physical activity.
