Autumn Term – Steps to Success 

Steps to Success is the name of our first Parents' Evenings, normally held in October. 

These are normally 5-minute appointments to discuss how your child has settled since the start of term, your child’s attitude and approach to their learning and the steps that need to be taken to achieve their targets for the term. Dates and times will notified on the School App shortly before.

(Autumn Term - for Reception parents only)

Instead of formal appointments, we invite parents and carers of our Reception pupils to attend a short meeting to discuss how the children have settled in and what the next steps are. After the meeting, you may visit the class to look at your child’s work and have a brief chat with your child's teacher. Dates will notified on the School App shortly before.

Spring Term – Parents Evenings

Normally held in February, these are normally 10-minute appointments where there will be opportunities to view your child’s work and to talk with your child’s class teacher about your child’s successes, academic progress and targets for the remainder of the year. Dates and times will notified on the School App shortly before.

 

Summer Term – Open Afternoon / Evening

Normally held in July, this is an opportunity for your child to share their work from this year. You will have already received your child's report, and will have the opportunity to speak to your child's teacher. You will also be able to meet their new class teacher for the next academic year. No formal appointments are required. Dates will notified on the School App shortly before.

 

Is my child required to attend?

Phase 1 & Phase 2 (Rec - Y3) – Pupils are not required to attend the meeting with their parents. 

Phase 3 (Yrs 4–6) – We would like pupils to attend their meeting, with their parents/carers, where possible.

 

How to book an appointment for Parents' Evenings: 

• Access our online Parent Portal page: Arbor at https://parkroyal.uk.arbor.sc
• Appointment times/dates will show for your child’s teacher under Guardian Consultations. 
• If you experience any difficulty accessing the Arbor Parent Portal, please contact the school office. 
• Please ensure that your contact details are up-to-date on Arbor when you log in to book your appointment.
