Parkroyal Pastoral Team

Pastoral Support Lead

Mrs Taylor's role is to champion the needs of children in our school who may be facing barriers to effective learning, both inside and outside school. She works with pupils, teachers, parents and carers, families, schools and other professional agencies to create a plan of action specific to your child's needs. Mrs Taylor will help children to understand their barriers and develop strategies and skills to help them make positive choices, progress in learning and help them feel good about themselves.

Mrs Taylor will offer support across a range of areas within the school, some of which may focus on:

  • Pupil well-being
  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Social skills
  • Attendance and punctuality
  • Motivation
  • Building friendships
  • Family difficulties
  • Breakfast clubs

Mrs Taylor leads the pupil leadership group, Safeguarding Ambassadors, empowering them to have a voice within our school and enabling them to support their peers.

ELSA - Emotional Literacy Support Assistants

Our school is proud to have a team of ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) trained staff who provide specialist support to pupils’ emotional and social development. These trained members of staff work one-to-one or in small groups to help children develop skills such as managing feelings, building self-esteem, improving social interactions, and coping with change or anxiety. By offering targeted, empathetic support, ELSA staff help pupils overcome barriers to learning, grow in confidence, and feel secure and understood within the school community. Their work plays a key role in promoting wellbeing and ensuring every child can thrive both academically and personally.

Pastoral Hub

Our Pastoral Hub is a central part of our school’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of every pupil. It provides a calm, safe, and welcoming environment where children can access a wide range of support tailored to their individual needs. The hub is staffed by our dedicated Pastoral Team, who work closely with pupils to help them manage emotions, build confidence, develop social skills, and overcome personal or academic challenges. It also offers structured programs for mental health, resilience, and positive relationships, alongside one-to-one and small-group support. By collaborating with families, teachers, and external professionals, the Pastoral Hub ensures that every pupil feels valued, understood, and supported throughout their entire journey in our school.
