At Parkroyal we take a great amount of pride in our uniform and expect it to be worn correctly each day. We feel that it is smart and comfortable and that wearing school uniform promotes positive feelings of belonging to the school community, as well as helping to avoid daily arguments about what is fashionable and what is not fashionable to wear for school. It also makes life much easier for parents/carers.
The basic colours for the uniform are grey, white and red. Uniform items can be purchased from Finesse (Mill Street) and Classworx (King Edward Road) both in Macclesfield or alternatively you can purchase items (without logos) from many high street clothing stores and supermarkets.
In November 2021 the DfE published new statutory guidance with regards to the cost of school uniform, and they ‘strongly encourage schools to have a uniform as it can play a key role in’:
In addition to the above, the statutory guidance outlines the provision of second hand uniforms and that this not only can support families but that by extending the life of garments, it is more sustainable.
Friends of Parkroyal (PTA) have opened an online shop for pre-loved school uniform. Please have a look at the shop via the Uniformerly website and help us recycle and raise funds for school.
You can browse items freely via the "Find your School" tab and then to buy items you just need to register an account. Payments are made online via Paypal and items can then be collected within a few days from the school office (term time only). Any uniform donations can be dropped off at the school office too and would be appreciated.

*PLEASE ENSURE ALL UNIFORM IS CLEARLY NAMED
Trainers and high-heeled shoes are unsuitable and may not be worn at school.
Jewellery should not be worn in school. Stud earrings are permitted in pierced ears and pupils may wear a watch however other jewellery should not be worn for health & safety reasons. Pupils should not wear any jewellery when undertaking physical activities such as PE or extra curricular sports clubs; the jewellery should be removed by the pupil or the parent only.
Pupils are not allowed to wear smart watches or any device that receives texts or takes photographs, even if the device is disabled during the school day. We are unable to monitor if the device has been locked securely or not. We understand they may want to count their steps to school, however like a mobile phone they need to be handed over to a member of staff at the start of the school day. These are expensive items which we can't be responsible for and would advise that they stay at home.
Hair, shoulder length or longer, should be tied back securely at all times.
