The importance of regular attendance
At Parkroyal Community School, we want all children to have the best possible attendance at school to enable each and every child to reach their full potential.
There is a strong link between good school attendance and achieving good results for children. Children who frequently miss school may fall behind in their work which may affect their future prospects.
Your responsibilities as a parent/carer
If your child is between 5 and 16 years old and is a registered pupil at a school, it is your legal responsibility to make sure that your child has a suitable education either by regular school attendance or otherwise.
Parental support is critical in ensuring that children achieve in education, and support and guidance is always available from our school. We know that we need to work together with parents/carers to support our children to attend school and to be successful. We want all parents/carers to help their children by making sure they attend school every day and arrive on time. Doing this will ensure that your child feels confident, up to date with learning, and up to date with their circle of friends.
Working with school
Don't be afraid to contact school about your child's attendance or other issues. Tell school about anything that may be happening at home which could affect your child's attendance. Good communication between you and the school is good for your child's education.
